Hayes Valley Farm is a dynamic setting, drawing folks in with our volunteer days, classes and events. We are a place for farming, growing food, and growing community, combining both hands-on farming with 21st century community building strategies. We are currently seeking interns who want to embrace social media and online marketing technologies as a way to spread the word and plant the seeds of the farm.
This internship position is for an active self-starter who wants to learn more about how to use online media as a networking and marketing device. And someone who wants to sharpen their skills in event planning and marketing.
The position includes but is not limited to the following:
- Actively updating the farm’s facebook and twitter campaigns
- Creating and editing our bi-weekly newsletter
- Participating in bi-weekly community building and marketing meetings
- Coordinating spring and summer events at the farm
- Documenting and reporting on farm events and volunteer days
- Writing farm related blog posts
- Building alliances with other organizations
Qualifications and Experience:
We seek someone who has some basic skills but would like to learn more in the following areas:
- Facebook and twitter
- Graphic design, photoshop
- Email marketing
- Google Docs, Spreadsheets
- PDC Certification highly encouraged, strong interest in permaculture required
This internship is a 10 hr/week commitment, for a minimum of 12 weeks. We are looking for someone who is excited by the idea of social permaculture, using technology to build networks and connections between members of our community. The internship can be molded to fit whatever aspects you are excited to learn about.
