Description

This Sunday, March 21st, Volunteer Appreciation Day!  Music, Food, Site Tours, Chalk Art and Worm Fun for the Kids, Planting and Farm Activities, and a special presentation by the French American School.

Get Dirty with us every Sunday at the Hayes Valley Farm Work Party - Sundays from 12:30pm-4:30pm.

Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary!

  • Volunteer Orientation begins at 12:30pm, immediately followed by the Work Party & Welcome to Hayes Valley Farm Site Tours.

What to Bring? - Please bring yourself, warm clothing you don't mind getting a little dirty, tough shoes as there are some sharp objects on the site, water, snacks to share, wheel barrows, shovels, rakes, tarps, cardboard, heavy working gloves and a positive attitude.

Description

Hayes Valley Farm is an education and research project with a focus on urban agriculture.  The farm is located in the center of San Francisco, where the Central Freeway used to connect with Fell and Oak Streets prior to the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989.
