Vegetable Focus: Solanums

When: Sunday, June 6  - 11:30am to 12:30pm

Description: This class will cover as much as possible on the more palatable and locally-appropriate varieties of these variously loved and hated gems of South American descent. We will discuss tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, and eggplants, and how to coax a crop from the most heat-loving family in an area renowned for its cool summers.

Cost: $10 to $20 (sliding scale)

Description

Hayes Valley Farm is an education and research project with a focus on urban agriculture.  The farm is located in the center of San Francisco, where the Central Freeway used to connect with Fell and Oak Streets prior to the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989.
