Growing Food with Antonio Roman-Alcala
Vegetable Focus: Chenopods
When: Sunday, June 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Description: This class will cover as much as possible on the Chenopodacaea family, home to such familiar veggies as beets, swiss chard, spinach, as well as more rare species like quinoa, amaranth, and orach.
Cost: $10 to $20 (sliding scale)

Description
Hayes Valley Farm is an education and research project with a focus on urban agriculture. The farm is located in the center of San Francisco, where the Central Freeway used to connect with Fell and Oak Streets prior to the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989.
