I'd like to extend a very big thanks to the group of volunteers from Sunday's work party! Although there weren't many of us braving the rain, we managed to finish planting 1,200 lettuce starts in the berms on the on ramp and in pots by the fruit trees. Great work everyone! These delicious plants should be ready to start harvesting in 45 to 60 days. What a great way to show how the farm has grown... While we're still building soil, we now have more food growing on site and another Berkeley style compost pile that's nearly finished! Be sure to come by and see the progress we're making on Thursday for the next work party, starting at 2:30! Last but not least, we want to thank San Francisco Zen Center and Green Gulch Farm for donating these lettuce babies to us. Their gift created the spark that lit our flame! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
