The last two days at the Winter Wonderfarm have been amazing. The truly amazing part has been experiencing wonderment unfold as the dynamics of SF weather inform our play, while being surrounded by flourishing fava beans, squash, lettuces, worm communities, and new friends.

This morning as everyone was settling into being at camp, I was helping Lemon and Apple Tree build a fire out of stones with the help of magic wands when I heard Sunrise Cauliflower shout over to us - "Look! Snow!!" We abandoned our stone fire and ran over to play in a light pattering of powder upon the scant pavement here at the farm. Dancing with Sunrise as the rest of the wonderers looked on in amazement marked the beginning of a day full of wonder and surprise.

After an ant walk around the farm, Super Green came by in the afternoon to guide us all in a map-making activity involving the repurposing of brown grocery bags into capes. Standing upon the squishy soil, a reminder of permaculture in action, I had the privilege of coaching wonderers in attempts at flight. Not long afterwards we had a frolic in the Goo Goo Ga Ga Machine, an apt name for a pile of mulch (name courtesy of Lemon), with which our wonderers had a great deal of fun digging, playing, and getting very dirty in. It was so refreshing to see the fun that can be had with good old dirt; the expansion of imagination one acquires in that pursuit. By the end of the day, all snow, rain, and wind had ceased, leaving clear skies and sunshine to bathe our giggles in.
