The San Francisco Zen Center has been graciously providing with us with about 200 gallons of compostable food scraps from their kitchen every Thursday for our compost workshop for the past several months. We've appreciated their partnership immensely! The Zen Center's compost has enabled us to make soil, an essential component of any farm, combined with mulch from Bayview Greenwaste and some water. Thank you, Zen Center, for your support, kindness and delicious "thank you" macaroons!
Our Thursday compost workshop will be on hiatus during this rainy season, when volunteers tend to turn out in fewer numbers, until next year. There is still plenty to learn and do on the farm, though, so please be in touch! We look forward to working together with the Zen Center again in the spring!
