02 March 2012
Swing by Whole Foods in Noe Valley tomorrow, Saturday, March 3rd, between 12–3 p.m. and you'll get to say hello to us! We'll be out front for the launch of the spring cycle of Nickels for Non-Profits along with two other amazing local non-profits we cannot wait to meet: Muttville, a senior dog rescue organization, and Arriba Juntos, an occupational training and job placement organization.
Whole Foods' Nickels for Non-Profits program offers customers who bring reusable bags the opportunity to donate a nickel to the non-profit of their choice. Through April 8, Hayes Valley Farm is featured as one of the non-profits! 100% of the donations go directly back to us to help us continue our work in building community, farming, education and having FUN. Whole Foods has expressed great enthusiasm for supporting the farm; their employees gave us the most votes for the program this spring!
"We are so proud to support Hayes Valley Farm as community giving at Whole Foods Market is rooted in our belief that corporations, as well as individuals, must be good tenants of the planet. We are intimately connected to the health and economy of each community we serve, and feel keenly our responsibility to give back to those communities in meaningful ways."
We are grateful for Whole Foods' dedication to community giving and recognition for Hayes Valley Farm and our role in the community. Please let your family and friends who shop at Whole Foods in Noe Valley know that they can give back to the farm on their next visit just by remembering a reusable bag.
Tomorrow we will also have our very own Hayes Valley Farm tote bags available at our table at Whole Foods. Represent the farm and reduce waste with our cute totes, made out of recycled cotton. We hope you'll come enjoy the sunshine tomorrow at the Whole Foods Saturday farmers' market and say "hello" to Hayes Valley Farm, too!
Happy Friday!
