Honey Bees for Kids

Kids can become Honey Bee Amabassadors with this fun and friendly introduction

When: Sunday, August 1 - 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm

Description:
Come with your child for an education and story telling session about the wonderful honey bee. We will talk about the three members of the hive (queen, workers and drones), the role each plays within the family (the colony), and the various jobs the worker bees do inside the hive as they grow up to finally become "foragers."

We will have an observation hive of live bees (bees will be behind plexiglass and cannot escape) so we can take a look at what the inside of a honey bee hive looks like. Each child will get a sticker and be encouraged to become a "honey bee embassador," by sharing information s/he learns with other kids.

Instructors:
Volunteer(s) of San Francisco Bee-Cause

Cost and Considerations:
FREE!
