Nonviolent Communication (NVC) Practice Group

Wednesday, August 31, 2011, 06:30pm - 08:00pm

Learning Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is learning a new language.

So, like learning, say, French we benefit from regular practice. To help with practice, we can now join a practice group right on Hayes Valley Farm, which meets three times per month (or so) on one of the volunteer days.

The first series meets on Wednesdays, August 10, 17, and 31 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm in the lower classroom (near the entrance on Fell Street). Please bring your feelings & needs lists.

What will we be doing?

That depends on what you bring but might include group empathy (one person receives empathy from the group); paired empathy (breaking into pairs for empathy practice); pre- or rehearsals (preparing for a difficult dialog or figuring out what we could have done differently).

Requested experience: Since this is a practice session, it is helpful if you understand the basics of NVC, including giving empathy.

Requested commitment: It would be terrific if you could plan to attend all three sessions. That builds some community as a side-effect.

Cost: FREE

RSVP: No need to sign up. Just show up.

See you on Wednesday!
