Permaculture Bootcamp

An introductory course to urban permaculture

When:
Sunday, September 19th - 10:00 am to 1:30 pm

Description:
We will explore the basics of permaculture as applied to the urban setting, and in particular the Hayes Valley Farm site. This introductory class could quite possible be one of the most important classes you take, because we begin to connect all the disparate dots together to form the kind of solutions everyone is looking for in order to pave a path for a sustainable future.

This three hour class is open to everyone and will start ay 10:00 am sharp. Please try to arrive between 9:30 am and 9:45 am if you want to ensure you are on time.

Instructors: David McConville and Chris Burley

Dave McConville

While attending a visioning workshop 3 years ago, Dave McConville was introduced to permaculture and has been studying, teaching and practicing it ever since. After taking his first Permaculture Design Course and Permacutlure Teacher Training Course he spent time designing and working on his 1/3rd of an acre urban lot back in NH. Interested in continuing to learn he has taken various workshops on topics such as Urban Permaculture, Food Forests and Homescale Permaculture. Since moving to SF last fall he’s become a member of the SF Permaculture Guild, a core volunteer at Hayes Valley Farm, organizer of SF Glean and involved with Transition SF.

Chris Burley

Chris Burley brings many years of urban farming & teaching experience and to the bootcamp classroom. He is adept at connecting with others and communicating the ideas in a succinct and impressionable way. Come listen to learn about how weeds are just soil health indicators and how mimicking natural systems while using our human potential has the capacity to provide us with all we need.

Cost and Considerations: The average cost for a permaculture design course is between $750 and $2000. Our Permaculture Bootcamp is an opportunity to sample the possibilities before committing to something larger, something more long term.

The cost for the Permaculture Bootcamp class is sliding scale from $50 - $75, for those who can afford it please do so, for those who cannot we are offerring 3-5 "work trade" scholarships at half price ($25, enter code "
bootcamp_worktrade" at checkout for half price.).
