FAMILIES & YOUTH
The Department of Families & Youth at Hayes Valley Farm aims to teach all ages about Urban Permaculture, utilizing our outdoor learning center to inspire a connection with place, community and healthy food systems through land and arts based experiences.
Growing space for budding urban farmers
Our youth are the future stewards of the earth and we feel that having exposure to projects like Hayes Valley Farm in their early years will inspire the development of a generation inherently inclined to care for the earth and its inhabitants.
Group Visits
Upon reservation we are available everyday for students, teachers, youth groups, service-learning opportunities, field trips, birthday parties, moms and tots.
Collaborative Design
The Families & Youth Program at Hayes Valley Farm will design an educational series to inspire your students and align with themes you are exploring in your classroom.
Service Learning
Hayes Valley Farm is a host site for middle and high school students to complete their service hours during our Open Volunteer Days on Wednesdays, Thursday and Sunday afternoons.
Family Days
As a day of service, Family Days at Hayes Valley Farm are free and open to everyone that would like to spend the day outdoors, volunteering with their kids and colleagues on days off from school and work.

Scholarships
The Families & Youth Program at Hayes Valley Farm strives to make classes and events available to all! No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
