Vanessa

Vanessa Roland, 28, was born and raised in the Cincinnati, Ohio area where she developed a love for creativity and nature very early on. After visiting the West Coast, she dreamed of moving there and exploring the natural beauty, culture, and creativity the area has to offer. So 4 ½ years ago, Vanessa and her partner relocated to San Francisco bringing only their dog, cat, and whatever would fit in their car. They now live in the Lower Haight neighborhood where they enjoy tending to their backyard garden and cooking fresh, local food.

Vanessa has a Bachelor of Science is Graphic Design from the University of Cincinnati which has provided flexible and diverse career opportunities for her here as a freelance designer and youth educator. Several passions influence her life and work, including yoga, mentoring, cooking, gardening, road trips, and “disploring” hikes. One of her true passions for many years has been working with children to nurture their creativity and explore all the wonders and inspiration nature has to offer. She believes hands-on learning in outdoor spaces is something every child will benefit from and they will become a thriving generation of nature literate, creative individuals.
